As an amateur photographer located in Detroit Michigan I have the opportunity to attend one of the most prestigious free jazz festival in the world. Imagine being entertained under the sun and stars for 4 glorious days of nothing but jazz music from some the best local and international musicians. My series of close-up, high contrast B&W photographs of Wallace Roney, Ron Carter, Pat Metheny, Macy Gray and David McMurray shows the intensity of pushing the notes of their instruments while preforming this magical improvisation called JAZZ.
