One thinks of Ethiopia as a historically rich country, with its 29 hundred year history, its early Christian monasteries, and breathtaking landscapes. There is however, a darker and less well-known side to this 65 million strong nation. Since the coming to power of Mengistu Haile Mariam and his Red Terror in 1975 to 1978, Ethiopia has found itself in constant wars either against foreign or domestic foes. This series of portraits is a testimony to the harsh reality of war within the deep Western side of Ethiopia. Known as Ogadenia, ONLF rebel fighters, are fighting to keep their ancestral past
