    Silver Winner in Fine Art/Abstract

2020, photogram, iPad-light on rc-paper, 30x40 Viola Jones is not human, but the name for the most famous face-recognition software. The program detects the faces by trying to place geometrical forms onto a person's face, almost like an automated Tetris-game. With the help of an iPad, faces were scanned using the algorithm. In the moment of scanning a face, light sensitive photo-paper was held onto the tablet’s screen, therefore recording the full process into one single image. Here, the computer looks at us - virtual forms, only visible in the digital world become visible for us.
