Browsing through family albums, one cannot help but wonder whether photography helps preserve a memory or whether eventually replaces it. The archaic technique of cyanotype becomes the means of recording and imprinting images on paper, in the same way, that childhood experiences have been shaped in the subconscious. At the same time, the abstract monochrome of blue separates the images from reality. This process of "re-photographing" my family archive, is not only a product of nostalgia but also an exploration of the relationship between human memory and photography.
