This body of work is the result of aging Type 55 Polaroid positives. Rather than preserving the positive with fixer as is typically practiced, I found that not coating the positive allows an aesthetic entropy to occur. Oxidation, deterioration and time became new variables within the work and allowed the work to evolve as a form of linear kinetic experience. Composition/Decomposition reflects upon accepting the beauty of time, memories and finality through the positives’ transient nature; representing the passing of time and the acceptance that nothing is fixed or permanent.
