‘A Third Space’ serves as an archive of what should have been. Drawing from late twentieth-century fashion photography, it explores underrepresented spaces and re-imagines people of colour in traditional contexts. Coined by theorist Homi K. Bhabha, ‘Third Space’ refers to hybridity, where marginalised and dominant cultures merge to create new meanings and identities. The work's visual language, shaped by the photographer-sitter bond is moulded through music, dance, storytelling, and cultural symbolism, fostering a space for sitters to shed their façade and be in a state of becoming.
