Every year in Ireland, the town of Ballinasloe and the Smithfield district of Dublin host their annual horse fair. In a country in transition, evolving and modernizing, the desire to keep traditions alive has grown stronger. These fairs are a way for Irish Travellers to celebrate their culture and participate in the trade and sale of horses, while for others it's a way to enjoy the festivities.
