Shot on my Contax T2 with Ilford HP5 400 Plus, these photos were taken in Hamburg during a mass protest against the far-right. Signs read “Mag Nazis Generell nicht” (“I generally don’t like nazis”) and “Lieber solidarsich als solide arsch” (“better to be in solidarity than asolid arsehole”). With the troubling political landscape, my fiancé and his family attended, and I joined for deeply personal reasons: I am the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. Attending was an emotional experience, feeling a profound connection to my grandparents and standing against hate. It was an act of resistance.
