This was a protest by the Bengali community on July 19, 2024, in Lisbon. Many people wearing reflective vests were maintaining order. They asked me, "Do you want to take a photo?" I replied, "Yes." Friendly, they pulled me into a circle formed by the crowd. My ears were filled with languages I couldn't understand as people spontaneously formed a circle around me, both protecting me and demonstrating. In this protest, there were not only men shouting loudly but also women and children standing silently on the side, expressing themselves. Their silence seemed to carry even more power.
