2020 Road Trip: In place of a thrilling expedition the trip took a turn into uncharted waters. Instead of travelling, we bedded down in a quiet Mexican fishing town and waited for the changes to blow through. Listless, biding time, hope in heart, my camera became an anchor and a clock. Afternoons were ritually paced out, observing the strange stillness that descended in an unfamiliar place. Watching the tide roll in day after day, fruit ripening on a tree, shadows circling a lone cactus, I heard nature’s slow crackle and pop replace the clamour of human bustle.
