"radici" ("roots") is a personal, ongoing photographic project that focuses on my parents' home region in Apulia, in the south of Italy. Born and raised in the Ruhr area (Germany), Puglia and the Salento have always presented themselves to me as a contrasting place of longing. A place where I spent so much time but could never really grasp or understand. The selected photographs are an attempt to come closer, to understand a place and its people that are so close to me and at the same time so far away.
